Case Study: Balanced Flue Gas Stove

Our client contacted us looking to install a freestanding stove in the corner of his living room in a thatched barn conversion. Having narrowed down the required appliance to LPG gas, the Barbas Eco 650 was chosen for its simple, clean stylings.
The presence of wooden beams and thatch in a property always presents technical challenges for the installation of a fire or stove, and we always work strictly to regulations in order to ensure a safe and legal installation.
We worked in conjunction with the client's thatcher, who modified the thatch to allow us to safely flue the appliance through the roof, whilst maintaining the necessary distances to combustible materials.
The Barbas Eco 650 was supplied with flue pipe in an anthracite painted finish, to match the stove, and as a finishing touch we cut a curved hearth in Black Satino granite for the appliance to stand on.
