STONEWORK CASE STUDY

MASONRY IN ANCASTER HARD WHITE STONE

We have recently been working on a major new build project in an historic Cambridge residential street.

Our client is creating a stunning property reflecting the style of the Restoration and early Georgian period (1660-1700).

The property consists of a main house with 6 reception rooms and 6 bedroom suites, 2 coach houses, 10 fireplaces, 2 pavillions, lawn tennis court and heated outdoor swimming pool.

Further details of our client's project including the latest progress can be found by clicking here to visit their website.

We were appointed to manufacture and fix architectural masonry elements including window surrounds, pilasters, plinths, copings and quoins.

Our client chose Ancaster Hard White stone, which is quarried in Lincolnshire. This hard limestone has been used for centuries in many prestigious buildings.

Ancaster Hard White is a stone we stock in block form. This enables us to carry out all cutting and shaping in our own workshops in Cambridge, meaning stonework can be tailored to clients exact requirements.

The images here show one of the coach houses with pilasters and window surround in Ancaster Hard White stone.
