The British Materials Collection shines a light on these beautiful native materials, revealing them in a range of stunning fire surrounds hand crafted by British masons.
The Avebury is a contemporary version of a style of Regency fireplace design that used indigenous West Country materials such as Moorcroft and Ashburton marbles.
This example shows Moorcroft Cartoon marble with its striking mineralization of grey, gold and pink hues. The panels are framed within Carrara marble mouldings and the same material is used for the mantel shelf. The Avebury is shown with a Byron fire basket from The Forged Steel range by Chesneys, slate hearth and slips.
