Her collection of fireplaces for Chesneys bears all these hallmarks in its imaginative and original re-interpretation of French and English nineteenth century forms.
The Cosmopolitan (from £5,663* inc VAT) pays homage to the work of Sir John Soane with its modern rendition in Carrara Marble of inversely tapering pilasters and guilloche ornamented corner blocks combining to create a fireplace of an entirely contemporary nature.
The Loire (from £6,433* inc VAT) in Statuary Marble takes as its inspiration a design from the Louis VXI period, featuring console jambs and a running fielded frieze and employs the device of simplified detail throughout and oversized decorative corner blocks as a means of establishing it in a modern form.
The Veneto (from £11,457* inc VAT) re-works a classic Regency design in a truly original manner with a traditional frame fabricated in Light Emperador marble and comprising plain panels ornamented with repeating convex orbs and diamond shapes in contrasting Portuguese stone to create a dramatic and arresting effect.
