Our client had a large inglenook fireplace in an older property, with an open solid fuel basket fire under a canopy hood connected up to the chimney.
Wishing to replace their old open fire with a contemporary and efficient gas appliance, they settled on the Gazco Large Riva Vision.
This stunning glass fronted gas fire offers a comforting warmth for larger rooms, with up to 5.2kW output at 70% efficiency. Our client chose the white stones fuel effect with black enamel firebox lining. This fire can also be supplied with a log effect and vermiculite or black reeded interiors.
This complete installation was carried out by Ivett & Reed in conjunction with a local Gas Safe Registered engineer, and involved the following:
- Removing the old canopy and open fire basket
- Relining the chimney with flexible gas flue liner
- Fitting a new chimney pot and gas terminal
- Positioning the Large Riva Vision on Riva Bench
- Connecting the appliance to the chimney liner
- Connecting and testing the gas appliance
This is a great example of how a clean and modern gas fire can be made to look at home in a more traditional setting.
