Honed is the most common finish for limestones and slates, but this finish can also be applied to marbles and granites.
Honed surfaces are created using different grades of abrasives under factory conditions and give a relatively minimal reflection (depending on the stone). The surface is smooth and matt without visible grooves.
We do advise clients that honed granite is more difficult to maintain than polished or textured finishes, particularly on Honed Black Granite which shows smears and finger marks when viewed against the light.
